    El estudio de los cánidos en la iconografía precolombina es fuente primaria para adentrarse en el conocimiento de una cultura cuyas bases se sustentaban en la religión -ritualismo y ceremonialismo-, que abarcaba todas sus actividades, desde las cotidianas hasta las de índole política, social, económica, cultural y militar. En el presente trabajo se estudian, por vez primera, las piezas y representaciones zoomorfas de cánidos que forman parte del acervo de la Fundación Cultural Armella Spitalier.

    The study of canidae in the pre-Columbian iconography is a primary source to go into the knowledge of a culture which bases were upheld by religion -ritualism and ceremonialism- in more depth. This religion covered every activity, from the everyday tasks to politics, social matters, economy, culture and the military. In this article the pieces and zoomorphic representations of the canidae that are part of the Fundación Cultural Armella Spitalier heritage are studied for the first time.
