    Questions ouvertes sur la gentrification: une revue de la littérature. - Le but de cet article est l'exploration de la littérature internationale sur le processus de gentrification. On débute en centrant l'attention sur les problèmes de définition. Le terme gentrification a été employé pour identifier une variété de processus avec caractéristiques et effets différents; en effet, jusqu'à présent, il n'existe pas un accord unanime sur ce qu'on appelle la "gentrification". Ensuite l'intéret se se focalise sur le débat concernant les causes de la gentrification: il s'agit surtout d'une dispute entre les approches libérale et marxiste. Encore on considère les effets sur les espaces urbains de la gentrification qui est en train de se vérifier, en essayant de réduire l'ambiguité qui affecte les jugements sur sa nature. Un réfléchissement sur le role en évolution des politiques publiques dans ce processus et l'utilisation de la gentrification comme un instrument de revitalisation sociale et économique des zones urbaines termine l'article.

    Gentrification: open questions in the literature. - The aim of this articÌe is to explore the international literature on the gentrification process. The review starts focusing on definitional problems. The term gentrification has been used to identify a variety of processes with different characteristics and effects; in fact until now it hasn't existed an unanimous consensus on what we can call gentrification. After the definitional aspect, attention is given to the debate on the causes of gentrification: a dispute between the liberal and the Marxist approach. Then the effects on urban spaces bf gentrification deployment will be dealt with, in an attempt to reduce the existing ambiguity about its positive or negative nature. A reflection on the changing role of the public policies in this process and the use of gentrification as a tool for social and economic revitalization of urban areas ends the article.
