    Un elevado porcentaje del PVC fabricado mundialmente se emplea para la producción de PVC plastificado. La cantidad de plastificante que se usa para obtener formulaciones de PVC flexible puede alcanzar el 60% en masa del producto final. Por eso no es de extrañar que las propiedades físicas y químicas del aditivo influyen decisivamente en las prstaciones finales del material. En el presente artículo se comparan los diversos tipos de plastificantes que se están usando en el PVC en función de las propiedades deseadas y las aplicaciones del producto final.

    A large percentage of PVC produced worldwide is used for the production of plasticized PVC. The quantity of the plasticizer used to obtain flexible PVC formulations may reach up to 60% of the final product. For this reason the physical and chemical properties of the additive have a strong influence in the final performance of the material. In the present article the different types of plazticizer used in PVC formulations as a function of the desired properties and final applications are compared.
