    Le pantouflage ne peut être compris que resitué dans sa dimension historique afin d’analyser ses causes structurelles et les modulations opérées par la conjoncture. Il témoigne aujourd’hui de l’existence d’une élite politicoadministrative, étroite et interchangeable.

    The « pantouflage » – a practice whereby higher civil servants are given key positions in major private groups – can only be understood when put into its historical perspective so as to highlight both its structural roots and the influence of conjunctural developments. Today it illustrates the existence of a closely-knit and interchangeable political and administrative elite.
