This article outlines the management of solid cancers in the elderly, specifically breast, head and neck, esophagogastric, and colorectal cancers. There are inherent barriers to standardized management as a function of chronologic age rather than with regard to any specific physiologic parameters. Currently, there is no universal influence of any comprehensive geriatric assessment on patient selection either for surgery or for ancillary adjuvant therapies.
