Ya puede decirse que existe una verdadera escuela de pintura de temas cristianos en países de Oriente, en los que no se daban antes más que manifestaciones esporádicas de esta temática. Lo más importante es que no se trata de imitar el arte cristiano llegado de Occidente: estos temas cristianos aparecen con características propias de cada país de Oriente, después de una profunda asimilación. Se presentan algunos pintores contemporáneos más significativos de India, Corea y Japón.

There is already a certain school of Christian subject painting in several Far East countries, where there were not any permanent expressions of that until our time. The most important thing is that oriental artists do not try to imitate any more the works of art received from the West, but they make their paintings in a proper style, following the characteristics of their own culture. A selection of the most outstanding contemporary painters of India, Korea and Japan are presented, who take Christian subjects for their works.
