  • Important qualitative and quantitative changes are currently happening in the politics and country construction in the Basque Country. The world is changing. And that because (1) the political and economic field of social relations, as well as the social space in general, are in a process of continuous enlargement;(2) the nature of those relations is taking new features, concerning its content and its speed of change, in a way which was unknown up till now; and, finally, (3) the force correlation between different countries is a new one, through the emergence of a global space. The objective conditions for the development of our country are rapidly changing, and that introduces new questions in any strategy for our country construction. In the case of the Basque Country it is completely necessary to deal with the new development conditions coming from globalisation, overcoming the struggle among opposing projects and views about the nature of the country.
