    El turismo rural ha adquirido un notable protagonismo en las últimas décadas, sustituyendo su tradicional consideración de actividad complementaria por el reconocimiento de modalidad independiente capaz de movilizar flujos turísticos. El aumento de la demanda dirigida al disfrute de recursos endógenos al ámbito rural, y el consiguiente incremento de una oferta cada vez más extendida, han impulsado la aprobación de normas específicas que regulan el desarrollo de estos servicios turísticos y tratan de garantizar el equilibrio entre desarrollo económico y protección del entorno. Se puede afirmar que el Derecho Turístico Iberoamericano ha establecido un marco jurídico del turismo rural, proceso que se encuentra sujeto a una constante evolución dado el carácter dinámico de este sector. El presente trabajo pretende analizar las tendencias del Derecho español, sus problemas y avances, como modelo para reflexionar en torno a los retos normativos que plantea esta industria turística.

    Rural tourism have gained a leading role in the last few decades, turning its traditional consideration of secondary activity into the recognition of an independent category which is able to move tourist vawes. Increase in a demand aimed at the enjoyment of endogenous resources in the rural environment, and the resulting rise of a very widespread offer, have motivated the enactment of specific rules which regulate the development of these tourist services and try to guarantee the balance between economic growth and environment protection at the same time. It is arguably stated that Latin American tourist Law has defined a juridification of rural tourism, a process which is subject to constant evolution because of the dynamic profile of this area. This work wants to analyse trends noticed in Spanish Law, its problems and progress, as a model to think about legal challenges which sets out this tourist sector.
