Sabemos como os media contemporâneos estão a criar novas formas de acção e interacção, que reordenam o modo como os indivíduos interpretam e reagem ao mundo social. Num tempo em que a experiência é, em grande medida, estruturada pelo computador, surgem questões como a seguinte: em que medida as novas formas de experiência potenciam uma concepção do sujeito própria da modernidade, baseada num conceito de identidade reflexiva, intersubjectiva e dinâmica? Como solução, propomos, para além dos extremos do "eu unitário" e do "eu fragmentado", a possibilidade de um "eu flexível".

We know how the contemporary media are creating new forms of action and interaction, which reorders the way people interpret and react to the social world. In a time when the experience is largely structured by the computer, arise questions as the following: to what extent new forms of experience potentiate subject's own conception of modernity, based on a reflective, intersubjective and dynamic concept of identity? As a solution, we suggest, beyond the extremes of the "unitary self" and the "fragmented self", the possibility of a "flexible self".
