Resumen de Adaptive optics applications in vision sciences

C. Pérez Vives, Lurdes Belda Salmerón, Santiago García Lázaro, David Madrid Costa, Teresa Ferrer Blasco

  • The eye as optical system has aberrations, which degrade vision. Adaptive optics (AO) is a technique to compensate these aberrations in any optical system, in order to improve the quality of these optical systems. The AO systems have numerous applications in field of visual optics, as increase the resolution of retinal imaging, vision correction and visual simulation. AO has many applications in the vision correction within vision sciences field. On the other band, the vision simulation can produce controlled wave aberration patterns in the eye, for better understand the impact of the aberrations on vision. So, it has the great potencial for demonstrating the visual benefits of invasive surgical procedures, before treatment
