  • The practice of law in the United States has come to depend increasingly on other disciplines. Courts rely on nonlegal resources to support, and in some cases to shape, their opinions. Illustrative of this development is the U.S.

    Supreme Court, whose application of nonlegal materials is surveyed over a ten-year period of time.
