  • Resumen
    • This article provides a wide-ranging overview of the support available to parliamentarians to enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities they require to perform their individual roles and the functions of the Parliament in which they serve. In doing so, it brings together various sources: it reports findings from an international research project (the Parliamentary Careers project) that covers several national parliaments from around the world. In addition, it raises key points made by other contributors of this issue, bringing together academic and practitioners perspectives. It provides a comprehensive review of the current state of knowledge concerning formal and informal capacity-building programmes for parliamentarians.
