A penetrative extensional tectonics, which includes the existence of three important detachments, has been identified in the Sobrado area, in the eastern margin of the Ordenes Complex. It is related to the extensional collapse of an orogenic wedge built previously by crustal thickening and stacking of allochthonous terranes.
