    Ana Rodríguez de Castro y Arámburu y Agustina Josefa de Jesús Vera Villavicencio Palacios representan dos casos típicos de beatas de la Nueva España cuyas prácticas místicas fueron considerados por el Santo Oficio herejías. El presente trabajo examina sus acciones documentados en el Archivo General de la Nación de México con el fin de identificar sus motivos y las raíces de dichas prácticas.

    Ana Rodríguez de Castro y Arámburu and Agustina de Jesús Vera Villavicencio Palacios represent two typical cases of pious women in New Spain whose mystical practices have been considered by the Inquisition to be heresies. This article examines the actions documented in the General National Archive of Mexico with the intention to identify the motives and the roots of these practices.
