Resumen de LA AMENAZA DE UNA DOCTRINA DE INCLUSIÓN CONTINENTAL:: CHILE Y EL PLAN WILSON 1915

En base a documentos del Archivo Histórico del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, se examina el sustrato y el comportamiento de la política exterior de Chile ante la amenaza de una doctrina de inclusión continental promovida por el Presidente de los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica, Woodrow Wilson, hacia 1915, la que potencialmente podía atentar contra sus intereses territoriales, específicamente, en aquellos puntos que mantenía controversia con Perú tras la Guerra del Pacífico. Chile, observando el mapa del poder mundial y regional, no desconoce la relevancia de Estados Unidos en el continente y en sudamericana, por lo tanto, debe urdir una estrategia que le permita resguardar su independencia e intereses soberanos en el escenario internacional, de ahí, que se mueva entre la convergencia y divergencia con Estados Unidos respecto al mentado Plan Wilson.

Based on documents from the Historical Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Relations, it is examined the substrate and the foreign policy behavior of Chile to the threat of a continental inclusion doctrine promoted by the President of the United States, Woodrow Wilson, in 1915, which could potentially attempts against it�s territorial interests, specifically, on points that kept controversy with Peru after the Pacific War. Chile, watching the map of the world and regional power, does not ignore the importance of the U.S. in South America and, therefore, must weave a strategy that allows it to safeguard its independence and sovereign interests in the international arena, hence, that moves between convergence and divergence with the United States regarding the mented Plan Wilson.
