El holocausto que afectó, principalmente, a los judíos no puede ser sólo recordado y sentido por la comunidad judía, sino por todos quienes anhelamos que atrocidades como estas no vuelvan a ocurrir. Por esta razón José Emilio Pacheco adquiere un rol social en su novela en la cual apela cognitiva, emocional y moralmente al lector. El artículo muestra que Pacheco, autor de Morirás lejos exige un lector activo para la recepción de su novela.

The Holocaust upset mainly the Jews; it must, however, be felt and rethought not only by the Jewish community but also by everyone that doesn�t want theses atrocities be renewed. Therefore, José Emilio Pacheco achieves a social role thanks to his cognitive, emotional and moral appellation to his reader. The aim of this article is to show how Pacheco, the author of Morirás lejos calls for an active reader for his novel.
