Resumen de La religiosidad del colectivo marroquí en Extremadura

Rachid El Quaroui

  • Habitually, we talk about Moroccan groups by means of the attribution of their Islamic character. The connotation of the social, cultural or religious attributes of minority groups on the part of the majority group is usually not neutral, and it is conditioned by the perception that the majority elaborates with respect to such a group. The Muslim Moroccan group in Extremadura receives a strong influence from the secular tendencies in this society, which favour expressions of individualization and privatization. Belief turned into a personal opinion, beyond being merely a family inheritance, or the formulation of an Islam more cultural than religious (in which particular observances are related to festive practices throughout the Islamic calendar)
