A general equivalent circuit for a transistor useful at high frecuencies is presented. The circuit has been deducen from diffusion equation and gives an exact account of the transistor behavior as a circuit element. A current generator and two distributed or lumped parameters lines are required.
The paper shows how some of the most popular equivalent circuits can be considered as simplified versions of the general one. Formulaee for computing impedance parameters of transistor on a computer-aided basis are also given.
