    Este texto se articula en torno a un conjunto de reflexiones sobre cómo la sociedad percibe la diferencia y cómo, a partir de su mirada, aquella se constituye y se construye como un problema social que afecta a unos pocos, pero que intenta resolver una mayoría no afectada creando actitudes y mecanismos que, lejos de integrar, acentúan involuntariamente la exclusión. El objetivo es ofrecer, a través de diversos ejemplos etnográficos, una fotografía de la percepción social de la diversidad física en nuestro entorno cultural más directo.

    The structure of this article revolves around two main objectives: to discuss the way society perceives difference and to analyze how the difference becomes a social problem that affects only a few people whereas most of them —not concerned directly with the difference— in-tent to solve it. Subsequently, this majority group develop attitudes and mechanisms that far from integrate, involuntary stress the exclusion. Based on ethnographic examples, the aim of this article is to present the images of the social perception about the physical diversity held in our most direct cultural context.
