Elementary school teachers have access to a new problem each month, along with suggested instructional notes. Teachers are asked to use the problem in their own classrooms and report solutions, strategies, reflections, and misconcep¬tions to the journal audience. This month's problem motivates wondering and investigation with a simple question: Have you ever chewed gum? The questions on the activity sheet prompt students to explore the history of chewing gum, brands, and popular flavors.
