  • This is the second part of a six-article series focused on the communication strategies of the new Pistoia public library (San Giorgio Library). Here, the director and two librarians reflect upon the use of social networks, in particular Facebook and Twitter, adopted in order to deepen the relationship with the users, especially with the youngest ones. The practice of “social budgeting” is also presented and discussed: through this tool, the municipality of Pistoia aims not only to involve the citizens, but also show to the whole community that investments on libraries have an economic return.
