Al tiempo que desarticuló la condición central de la conciencia en el dictamen intelectual, el post-estructuralismo substituyó la centralidad del sentido por la eliminación de la diferencia entre experiencia y discurso. De tal forma, la diferencia entre sentido y sonido se ha diluido progresivamente a partir del sensualismo, que la identificaba con una representación ordenadora de la naturaleza, para alcanzar en la infografía informatizada un límite que elimina la distinción entre sistema e información. Tal indistinción plantea la relación entre sentido y sonido bajo el criterio de la emisión enunciada, en razón del invariante relacional que supone el bit.
