    El objeto del presente artículo es doble. Por un lado queremos exponer el papel que el cónsul británico de Valencia durante la Guerra de la Independencia, P. C. Tupper, jugó durante la contienda y, en segundo lugar, la ayuda inglesa que gracias a él recibieron las fuerzas dependientes del antiguo Reino de Valencia. Para ello, ha sido indispensable la documentación existente en el National Archive de Londres, concretamente los papeles del Foreign Office y del Audit Office.

Tupper, played during the conflict and, on the other, the British aidthat the forces of the old Kingdom of Valencia received from him.
