  • The title suggests a stranger to French, poised on the brink of the realisation of a promise, and refers to Rembrandt while exploiting in particular the Song of Songs ; indeed Cixous writes the in-between of past and future, here and there, where life takes place, and creates the mobility proper to a painting.
