    Se reporta por primera vez al piojo Heterodoxus spiniger parasitando perros en Uruguay, el hallazgo se realizó en la ciudad de Bella Unión en el Departamento de Artigas. También se confirma la presencia de Linognathus setosus el cual no estaba documentado bibliográficamente para el país. Con el presente reporte son tres las especies de piojos hallados parasitando perros en Uruguay: Trichodectes canis, H. spiniger y L. setosus

    The louse Heterodoxus spiniger is reported parasitizing dogs for the first time in Uruguay, the report is in the city of Bella Union in Artigas County. Additionally we confirm the presence of Linognathus setosus since it was not documented bibliographically for the country. With this report are three species of lice found as parasites of dogs in Uruguay: Trichodectes canis, H. spiniger and L. setosus
