Resumen de ¿Se desvanece lo mental ante un análisis de corte material?: orígenes del problema mente/cuerpo y algo de sus implicaciones

En este artículo voy a tratar de mostrar algunas repercusiones del problema mente/cuerpo, en especial cómo puede decirse que hay una interpretación errónea de los conceptos cartesianos, principalmente en relación con la falsa oposición entre el alma (mente) como algo inmaterial, sin dimensiones, no separable, etc., y el cuerpo (cerebro) como algo material, con dimensiones, divisible, etc. Para demostrar esto, voy a analizar algunas de las perspectivas contemporáneas sobre la filosofía de la mente como el conductismo, el funcionalismo y la inteligencia artificial, entre otras, mostrando cómo estos dejan de lado el principal rasgo de la mente: los qualia o características cualitativas de la vida mental.

In this paper I will try to show some repercussions that come from the mind/ body problem, especially how there is a mistaken interpretation about the Cartesian concepts, principally in relation to the fake opposition between the soul (mind) as something immaterial, without dimensions, not separable and so on; and the body (brain) as something material, with proportions, divisible and so on. In order to demonstrate it, I´m going to analyze some contemporaneous perspectives concerning to the philosophy of mind as the behaviorism, functionalism, and artificial intelligence, among others, showing how these leave out the principal feature of the mind it is the Qualia or qualitative characteristics of the mental life.
