The main goal of this paper is to analyze different ways of representing fallible knowledge with the help of possible world semantics. By way of introduction, well start with a presentation of the more important epistemic and doxastic systems, including one of the most striking aspects of this issue, namely: the so-called logical omniscience problem. Then, well review some of the most efficient methods that have been suggested to overcome the logical omniscience. In our opinion, the lesson to be learned from this analysis is that the benefits of modal epistemic and doxastic logic outweigh its possible disadvantages
