  • Resumen
    • The discipline of economics has incorporated a model of the market called the neoclassical paradigm. This paradigm is based on 11 normative principles which define the culture of economics in capitalist societies. Teachers of economics are inculcating these norms in their students. Yet following these norms leads to undesirable and possibly catastrophic consequences, especially in the area of the environment; therefore, in order to save the world for human habitation, we must stop teaching economics! Unfortunately, for several reasons, the neoclassical normative paradigm in economics maintains a dominant position in the academy and in the world.
