The word salôm, in the Hebrew Bible, often has meanings that go beyond the simple concept of "peace." From comparison with Acadic, it emerges that salôm contains within itself the riches of two distinct roots (slm and slm), which express, respectively, "peace, concord" and "well-being, completeness". It is probable that, given the similarity of the roots and the closeness of the respective semantic fields, there is found, in Hebrew, a fusion of the two roots.
