Intervenciones arqueológicas en el Castro de Urisol, y las cavidades de Urisolo y Goba de Unda (Letona, Alava)

    Este castro se conoce como tal, desde 1968, pero salvo algunos materiales cerámicos recogidos en los vertederos que indicaban su pertenencia a momentos de la Edad del Hierro, no se había realizado ninguna investigación que aportase datos sobre su estructura y periodo de ocupación y desarrollo. Teniendo en cuenta la importancia de este enclave en los caminos hacia el norte y oeste, planteamos una intervención que tratase de poner en claro, todos estos aspectos. A ello se sumaba la existencia de dos cavidades enmarcadas en su entorno; la Goba de Unda y la diaclasa-cueva de Urisolo, vinculadas por su proximidad, con el Castro. En la primera de estas cavidades ya realizamos, en 1964, un pequeño sondeo en su entrada. En cuanto a la segunda fue en el 2000, cuando nos llamó la atención su estructura y situación, comenzando los trabajos en ella, en el 2010. De los resultados obtenidos, tanto en el castro como en las cavidades, trata esta memoria. En la campaña de excavaciones llevadas a cabo durante el año 2011, pudieron obtenerse unas conclusiones que han permitido aclarar muchos de los interrogantes planteados.

    This hill-fort has been known as such since 1968 although, apart from some ceramic materials collected from rubbish tips that suggested the fact that it dated back to the Iron Age, no research had been carried out that provided data about its structure and period of occupation and development. Taking into account the importance of this enclave on routes heading north and southwards, we have considered intervention that would attempt to clear up all these aspects. To this was added the existence of two cavities that form part of their environment: the Goba de Unda and the joint-cave of Urisolo, linked by their proximity to the hill-fort. In the first-mentioned of these cavities we had already done a little drilling at the entrance. As for the second, it was in the year 2000 when its structure and location caught our attention, and we started work on it in 2010. This report deals with the results obtained both from the hill-fort and from the cavities. Certain conclusions were able to be drawn in the course of excavations carried out during 2011 that have enabled many of the question marks surrounding this matter to be cleared up.

    1968. urtetik ezagutzen da izen horrekin kastro hau, baina zabortegietan bildutako zeramikazko hainbat materialek Burdin Aroan kokatzeaz gain, ez zen bere egiturari, okupazio-aldiari eta garapenari buruzko datuak ematen zuen ikerlanik egin. Iparraldetik mendebalderako bideetan toki honek duen garrantzia aintzat hartuta, alderdi horiek guztiak argitzen lagunduko zuen eskuhartzea planteatu genuen. Horri, inguruan kokatutako bi haitzulo gehitu behar zitzaion: Undako Goba eta Urisoloko diaklasahaitzuloa, hurbiltasunagatik, Kastroarekin lotzen zirenak. Bi haitzuloetako batean zundaketa txiki bat egin genuen sarreran 1964.
