  • Resumen
    • Identifying what theory is and how nursing as a discipline defines it, is of concern. This lack of consensus proves especially daunting when disseminating knowledge not only to nurses but others as well. If the profession is not able to articulate the foundation of theory, it is in a sorry state. By reviewing and critiquing the invited column perhaps nurses may establish what a theory is and how theory should be utilized in nursing. In order to differentiate theory from concepts, it is critical that theory developers are consistent.
