In this paper grain size parameters and calcium carbonate content of subaquatic sediments in front of Corrubedo beach barrier lagoon complex are presented. Sediments are mostly sands. The general distribution pattern shows a trend of increasing grain size and calcium carbonate content seawards where the depth is bigger and seems to be related with subaquatic rock outcrops. A subaquatic rock ribbon bordering the coast line has been detected and it separates the intertidal sediments from the subtidal ones; we think that can play an important role in the sedimentary model of the area. The area has been divided in four classes according to granulometric parameters (mean grain size, sorting, asymmetry and grain size distribution curve shape) that reflect the sedimentological characteristics prevailing in each zone
