  • While the professional relationship between John Nash and Humphry Repton had been promising for a short spell around 1800, it failed; yet the connection between Nash and Repton's son George remained fruitful for about 20 years. All three men knew the Isle of Wight, and Nash liked it well enough to have built himself an impressive seat there by the turn of the century.
