    In the city of Vinkovci in northeastern Croatia, a cemetery of the Late Hallstatt period was discovered during salvage excavations. Located on the site of the NAMA Department Store, the graves were excavated during the winter of 1976/77 under difficult weather conditions and were therefore insufficiently documented. These were skeleton burials, furnished with typical southern Pannonian grave goods such as costume accessories, weapons and pottery, and were dated to the second half of the 5th and the first half the 4th century BC. In the grounds of the cemetery three horse burials were also discovered, two of them with bridles. In Grave 1 a horse with Central European characteristics was buried with phalerae of the Central European early Latène type. In Grave 2 lay a robust horse with eastern characteristics and rein fittings of the Thracian-Scythian type. The horses' bridles were contemporaneous with the human burials.

    Une nécropole de la période hallstattienne finale a été découverte dans la ville de Vinkovci, dans le Nord-Est de la Croatie, à l'occasion de fouilles de sauvetage. Les sépultures ont été fouillées dans de très mauvaises conditions au cours de l'hiver 1976/77, à l'emplacement du supermarché NAMA. Pour cette raison, la documentation est insuffisante. Il s'agit d'inhumations dotées d'objets typiques de la Pannonie méridionale, comme des éléments de parure, des armes et des céramiques, datés de la seconde moitié du Ve siècle et de la première moitié du IVe siècle avant J.-C. Trois sépultures de cheval ont également été mises au jour dans le secteur de la nécropole, dont deux ayant livré des éléments de harnachement. A l'intérieur de la tombe 1 se trouvait un cheval dont la morphologie indique une origine centre-européenne. Il était accompagné de phalères caractéristiques de La Tène ancienne d'Europe centrale. La tombe 2 a livré un cheval robuste dont le squelette témoigne de particularités orientales. Ce cheval état accompagné d'éléments de bride de type thrako-scythe. Les éléments de harnachement des chevaux sont contemporains des objets découverts dans les sépultures humaines.

    In der Stadt Vinkovci in Nordostkroatien wurde bei archäologischen Rettungsgrabungen ein Gräberfeld der späten Hallstattzeit entdeckt. An der Stelle des Kaufhauses NAMA wurden die Gräber bei schlechten Wetterbedingungen im Winter 1976/77 ausgegraben und aus diesem Grund ungenügend dokumentiert. Es handelt sich un Skelettgräber, die mit typischen südpannonischen Beigaben, wie Tracht, Waffen und Keramik, aus der zweiten Hälfte des 5. und der ersten Hälfte des 4. Jahrhunderts v.Chr. ausfestattet waren. Im Areal des Gräberfeldes wurden auch drei Pferdebestattungen entdeckt, zwei davon mit Zaumzeug. In Grab 1 war ein Pferd von mitteleuropäischen Merkmalen mit Phaleren des mitteleuropäischen frühlatènezeitlichen Typs bestattet. In Grab 2 lag ein robustes Pferd mit östlichen Merkmalen und Zügelbeschlägen des thrakisch-skythischen Typs. Das Zaumzeug der Pferde stimmt zeitlich mit den Bestattungen der Menschen überein.
