Este artículo busca demostrar cómo algunos documentos que son trabajados dentro de las llamadas "historias de las familias", los expedientes matrimoniales que se conservan en la Catedral de Jaén por ejemplo, pueden servir también para conocer de primera mano la vida de los soldados jiennenses al servicio de su Majestad, en cualquier lugar y época en que sirvieron.
