Endomicroscopy is an adaption of laser scanning microscopy for real-time intravital surface and subsurface microscopy during endoscopy. With these technologies, endoscopy has moved from prediction of histology based on morphologic patterns toward visualization of cellular and subcellular details, providing real-time histology.
