  "La intertextualidad en la novela El alquimista o Paulo Coelho, el ladrón del "Sueño de los árabes". Este artículo aborda, en primera instancia, las premisas conceptuales de texto e intertexto dentro del discurso literario antiguo árabe y occidental, poniendo de relieve que todo texto es un reflejo consciente o inconsciente de la memoria acumulada de textos de diversas procedencias. En segunda instancia, se ofrece un estudio textual y un análisis de la novela El alquimista de Paulo Coelho, con especial atención a la interacción textual entre dicha novela y algunas tradiciones narrativas árabes, que se reflejan en el núcleo de la historia y en sus símbolos. Se propone que Paulo Coelho utilizó la tradición narrativa árabe de los llamados kutub al-asmar wa-l-muhadarat como marco en el que inscribir su historia, pero sin indicarlo de ninguna forma, dado que hay una clara coincidencia entre la voz del literato árabe y la de la novela de Coelho, lo cual significa que la intertextualidad se ha basado aquí en el principio de la negación de la otra voz, y no en el del reconocimiento de la pluralidad de voces

  The Intertextuality in the novel The Alchemist or Paulo Coelho the thief of "Arab's dream". The present work deals, in its first part, with the concepts of textuality and intertextuality within the old Arabic and Western literary discourse, trying to highlight the fact that every text reflects, consciously or unconsciously, of a number of previous texts from different backgrounds. In the second part, the paper provides a textual study and analysis of the novel The Alchemist, with special attention to textual interaction between this novel and some Arab narrative traditions, as reflected in the core of the story and its symbols. We suggest that Paulo Coelho used the Arabic narrative tradition of books such as kutub al-asmar wa-l-muhadarat as a framework for his novel, with no indication of it, since there is a clear overlap between the Arabic stories voice and the Coelho's novel voice, which means that intertextuality here is based on the principle of negation of the other voice, not the recognition of the plurality of voices
