The article proposes to arrive at another interpretation of Lithostrotos in Jn. 19,13, through a philologic examination of the Greek preposition «eis», which precedes the famous term. The Lithostrotos would not be a place in Jerusalem but outside of it, on the hills from which Jesus, the new temple (cf. Jn. 2,21), could look at the old temple as He who would soon purify it by his risen boby.
