Resumen de El término origo en la epigrafía latina

La origo es un elemento que puede presentar confusas connotaciones jurídicas, a veces de difícil interpretación, pues puede combinar elementos tales como el origen, nacimiento, procedencia geográfica, fa- miliar. Desde época republicana los romanos la solían incluir en su secuencia onomástica, aunque curiosamente no se utilizó el propio término origo , sino otras fórmulas. En este trabajo planteamos que en la epigrafía se utilizó este término y que ello se llevó a cabo a partir de finales del siglo II y durante la primera mitad del siglo III d.C., fundamentalmente en torno a la época de los Severos.

It is sometimes very difficult to interpret the term origo , since it can refer to different elements such as birth, place of origin, family or tribe. From the Republican period the Romans used to include this type of information in their inscriptions after the mention of the name, although, curiously, they did not employ the term origo itself, but other forms of expression. In this work we suggest that in Roman epigraphy this term was used, from the end of the Second Century and during the first half of the Third Century A. D., mainly in the times of the Severan Dynasty.
