  • The article discusses Israel's strategies in water management, agriculture and forestry offering hopeful alternatives for policymakers in nearby countries and for drylands worldwide. It cites the 4 components of Israel's idiosyncratic strategy to address desertification which includes the transformation of its semi-arid regions into highly productive agricultural lands, the establishment of desalination facilities on the Mediterranean coast and setting stock limits and rotation schedules
