  • Resumen
    • The Romegialli fragment, recently rediscovered at the Biblioteca civica Pio Rajna in Sondrio, is a parchment scrap originally part of an illuminated provençal chansonnier. The article first part deals with the fragment history, starting from its discovery in 1924 by Pio Rajna. In addition, this paper focuses on the content, poems and razos of the 12th-13th century troubadour Bertran de Born. Therefore it takes into consideration the philological studies that involved the fragment. The second part analyses in details the illuminated initials. On the recto there are two historiated letters related to the adjacent text. The initial Q is a unique representation of the razo that describes Henri II forgiving Bertran de Born. The historiated G shows the troubadour leaving the Hautefort castle. On the verso exuberant pen-flouriched letters enrich the text. The analysis shows the stylistic relationships between the fragment and the 13th century Venetian tradition, in particular the atelier of the manuscripts I and K (Paris, Bibliothèque nationale de France, mss. fr. 854 and fr. 12473). On balance, the textual and paratextual elements contribute to place the parchment in the Venetian area during the first decades of the 14th century, as the product of an unknown scriptorium.
