Resumen de Las buenas formas: inquietud por el arte en la ingeniería de hoy

El ciclo �Las buenas formas� que tuvo lugar la pasada primavera bajo el auspicio de INTIC y en colaboración con la Residencia de Estudiantes ha supuesto una invitación a exponer corrientes a favor del arte que pueden encontrarse hoy en nuestro medio profesional y sus aledaños. A lo largo de las conferencias y coloquios del ciclo afloraron testimonios de primera mano, no solo de ingenieros con inclinación artística y talento reconocidos, sino también de otras personalidades del mundo de las Bellas Artes que saben apreciar esas �buenas formas�. Este artículo expone una serie de consideraciones sobre el marco de referencia en el que cabe situar hoy la apreciación estética de la obra de ingeniería, especialmente cuando se trata de argumentar a favor de su valor formal propio y en tal sentido diferenciable del de otras artes constructivas. Lo anterior sirve como encuadre para recordar algunas enseñanzas extraídas de los actos del ciclo �Las buenas formas�, que se desarrollaron entre los meses de Abril y Junio de este año. Las intervenciones estuvieron a cargo de las personas siguientes: Julio Martínez Calzón, José Serna, Carlos Castañón, Jorge Bernabeu, Miguel Aguiló y Fernando de Terán. Todos ellos son profesionales suficientemente conocidos y valorados en nuestro medio, por lo que no requieren aquí mayor presentación.

The workshop on style and form going under the title of �las buenas formas� that took place this Spring under the auspices of INTIC (ICT Integration) with the collaboration of the Madrid Residencia de Estudiantes served as an introduction to the artistic trends currently encountered in our professional environment and related spheres. The series of conferences and round tables provided first hand accounts not only by renowned engineers with artistic leanings, but also by other professionals from the world of Fine Arts who fully appreciate these styles and forms. This article comments on this particular subject and forwards the place for good form or aesthetic appreciation in engineering work, particularly when attempting to argue in favour of its own formal value and one, in this respect, different from that of the other constructive arts. This serves as the setting in which to present some of the findings of the workshop on �Las buenas formas� that took place between April and June this year. The workshop included interventions by Julio Martínez Calzón, José Serna, Carlos Castañón, Jorge Bernabeu, Miguel Aguiló and Fernando de Terán, all of whom being sufficiently renowned and esteemed professionals in this country to do away with any further presentation.
