The author, on the basis of a series of unpublished documents, reconstructs part of the relationships occurring between the Gran Dukes Medici and the Obizzi family, in the Sixteenth and Seventeenth centuries. He starts from some inventories of Robert degli Obizzi's collection and presents some paintings once in the Catajo castle (near Padua), now preserved in the Museums of Vienna and Prague, with particular attention to an unpublished portrait of the Prince Leopoldo de'Medici as a child on horseback.
