    Scientific expertise plays an important role in supporting public health decisions that have a heavy human and economic impact. The competence and impartiality of the experts consulted are critically important for the credibility of the resulting evaluations and the decisions that follow. In order to guarantee unbiased scientific evaluation, the conflicts of interests prevention has become an important area of concern at the national and international levels. It has led to the adoption of legal or regulatory texts and to the definition of good practice.

    L’expertise scientifique joue un rôle important en appui des décisions qui relèvent de la santé publique et dont les impacts humains et économiques sont lourds. La compétence et l’impartialité des experts sollicités sont un enjeu crucial pour la crédibilité des avis rendus et des décisions ensuite prises. Afin de garantir que les avis scientifiques sont impartiaux, la prévention des conflits d’intérêts est devenue un thème important de préoccupation au niveau national et international, conduisant à des textes légaux ou réglementaires et à la définition de bonnes pratiques.
