This article presents an important unpublished painting by Cavalier d'Arpino. Specifically, this is a monochrome belonging to the Puskin Museum in Moscow identified as the model for "The meeting between Leone Magno and Atila", a work destined to the altar of the "Cappella della Colonna", dedicated to "Leone Magno". Regarding this painting there have been, to date, only documented news. In fact, the name of Cavalier d'Arpino appears in the minutes of the meetings of the "Congregazione della Reverenda Fabbrica" dated May 14, 1627 and June 27, 1629. During the latter assembly, the artist presented to the "Congregazione" the cartoon of the work which was inmediately approved and it was requested a rapid realization. Thanks to the The Puskin Museum monochrome it is possible to image the cartoon.
