Los estudios radiológicos precisos y fiables son necesarios para el éxito las técnicas implantológicas en cirugía oral. En este trabajo se comparan los resultados de las mediciones en puntos determinados de cinco mandíbulas secas realizadas con osteometría directa, radiografía panorámica y tomografía computerizada. Analizamos el error obtenido en la radiografía panorámica y la tomografía computerizada en relación con la medición directa de la mandíbula seca. Obtuvimos que el método radiográfico más exacto para realizar morfometría ósea mandibular es la tomografía computerizada.

In oral surgery, reliable radiologic studies are the base of the success of the implantology. In order to corroborate these methods we have compared the outputs of a mesures of five dry human mandibles, carried out in predeterminated points with direct osteometry, extraoral panoramic x-ray and maxilar computed tomography. We analized the error obtained in the extraoral panoramic x-ray and computed tomography in relation with the direct mensuration of the dray madible. We confirmed that the most trustworthy radiographic method in order to carry out bony mensurations of the mandible, is the computed tomography
