    Ante la desconfianza creciente de la ciudadanía en general y de los estudiantes en particular hacia los avances científicos y tecnológicos y ante la preocupación creciente que suscita dicha desconfianza entre las administraciones públicas, era preciso analizar la percepción estudiantil de la ciencia y tecnología en un territorio determinado: el País Vasco francés. Más precisamente, este estudio analiza 1) la imagen estudiantil de la ciencia y tecnología, 2) el interés de los estudiantes por ella, 3) su valoración de la situación de la ciencia y tecnología, 4) su apreciación de la comunicación científica y tecnológica, y 5) las demandas estudiantiles respecto a estos temas. Nos centraremos aquí en la primera dimensión, sabiendo que este trabajo forma parte de una investigación cualitativa más amplia solicitada y financiada por el Gobierno Vasco y la Fundación Elhuyar y que se titula �Percepción social de la ciencia y la tecnología en el País Vasco 2012�.

    Because of the increasing distrust of citizens in general and students especially towards the scientific and technological advances and in front of the increasing worry that provokes the mentioned distrust in the administrations, it was necessary to analyze the student perception of science and technology in a specific territory: the French Basque Country. More precisely, this article is interested in 1) the student image of science and technology, 2) the interest of students on it, 3) their valuation of the situation of science and technology, 4) their opinion about the scientific and technological communication, and 5) the student demands with these topics. We will centre hour attention on the first aspect, knowing that this work is a part of a more extended qualitative research requested and financed by the Basque Government and the Elhuyar Foundation and which title is "Social Perception of science and technology in the Basque Country 2012".
