Escritura y testimonio. La construcción del archivo en Puño y Letra de Diamela Eltit

    El artículo centra su análisis en la presencia de material de archivo en Puño y Letra (2005) de la escritora chilena, Diamela Eltit. El libro recupera el registro del juicio realizado en Argentina al ciudadano chileno Arancibia Clavel, por las muertes del General Carlos Prats y su esposa, Sofía Cuthbert, en 1974. La autora asistió al proceso en la capital argentina en 2000 y cinco años más tarde editó un fragmento del mismo. Este recorte va acompañado de otros documentos de valor testimonial que se resignifican en Puño y Letra. Entre los archivos expuestos se encuentran una carta de Augusto Pinochet al General, los alegatos de la defensa y el testimonio de la escritora, entre otros. A partir de estos documentos, el presente trabajo apunta hacia la conjunción del material y la lectura del mismo ya que, siguiendo a Jacques Derrida (1994), no se lee de la misma manera lo que ya no se archiva de la misma manera. El conjunto de pruebas presentes en el libro dan testimonio de la red de terror armada por el dictador y, a su vez, resalta la labor de las mujeres en la construcción de una memoria alternativa.

    This paper is centered in the presence of the archival material in the work of the Chilean writer Diamela Eltit Puño y letra (2005). The book recovers the recording of the trial of Enrique Arancibia Clavel for the murder of General Carlos Prats and his wife Sofía Cuthbert, committed in Argentina in 1974. Eltit attended the trial in Buenos Aires in 2000 and, five years later, she published a fragment of the case. This fragment is accompanied by documents that have a significant testimonial value and at the same time resignified in Puño y Letra. Within the archives, there is a letter from Augusto Pinochet to General Prats, the pleadings of the lawyers and the testimony of Eltit, among others. This article underlines the conjunction of documents and their multiple readings and interpretation. As Jacques Derrida (1994) said, we don�t read in the same way what it is filed in another way. The evidence presents in the book gives testimony of the network of horror imposed by the dictatorship and highlights the work of women in the construction of an alternative memory.
