After an overview on the major features of the e-book technologies, the author describes and discusses a survey she carried on at an important high school in Milan. This research, based on focus-group method, intended to look into the attitude of young readers towards electronic reading. The results of this survey suggest young people, used of course to electronic devices, consider the printed books as yet indispensable for many purposes. Besides, they seem to be a bit concerned in regard to the quality of reading and literature in the digital era.
