Resumen de Ita velis et non aliud. Ermeneutica della contemporaneità e stabilitas francescana.

Roberto Ranieri

  • This article is divided in two: The first part seeks to analyse some characteristics of post-modernity, so called, characteristics that become particularly evident through analysis of some successful narrative forms. The changing perception of time, time that is shorn of its dimension of future, the change in the organisation of the limitless realm of digital information, the now ubiquitous cinematographic aesthetics, are some of the "sources" utilised. These are compared with the traditional "sources" and, in particular, with the idea of "foundational text", bringing about a comparison between the "new" ant the "old" generated by these sources, respectively. In this context, where sudden and disarming change may lead to an attitude of - not only spiritual - fuga mundi, it is urgent to identify once more a desirable state of affairs. To this end, there is proposed the Franciscan model, as it may be deduced from the "Letter to a Minister"; knowing how to go on precisely when everything all around becomes difficult and impossible to understand, how to acquire a stable wisdom that shows forth clearly the faith in the God Who abides.
